What the FCA found

Undisclosed commission in car finance

Between 6 April 2007 and 1 November 2024, dealers often arranged finance on customers' behalf and received commission from the finance provider. In many cases this wasn't made clear.

  • Commission amounts were not disclosed to customers
  • Higher interest rates may have been applied to increase commission
  • Customers weren't given information that could have changed their decision
